Theres no reason to draft him. He said he will keep with baseball, he gets the big paycheck in baseball from NYY and come next April he will be a NFL Free agents like Hutchinson in Dallas. Hansen wont be picked.

Drafting him would be a waste ... under the rookie cap, there's no way an offer competitive to his baseball contract would be made unless he's a first round pick and there's no way anyone uses a first on him.

The only slim chance that I see of him being drafted is if a team picks up McGahee thinking they can get him to sign for a very cap-friendly contract due to his injury status and then using the savings from that contract to sign Henson. However, you've then spent two picks on guys that may never play for you, not a very good way to do things ... if anyone does this though, I'd say the Raiders - they'd get their young RB and a QB to groom for Gannon's eventual replacement. I still don't think that situation would work out with Henson signing with them though.

I think if you draft him you just maintain his rights for like 5 years or something, isnt it?

Elway threatened to play baseball to get leverage against the Colts, he never actually played in the minors.

I'm pretty sure that you only retain a guy's rights until the next draft year. He then re-enters the draft and if he's drafted and holds out again, he becomes a free agent the year after.
