    Around the league Injuries thread

The injuries in TCs have begun. Place injury news non-buffalo related here:

    Per rotoworld:
Redskins rookie Devin Thomas was carted off the practice field Thursday morning after suffering a pulled hamstring.

Thomas was going deep down the right sideline and fell to the ground as he extended to catch Jason Campbell's pass. The Redskins say they expect Thomas back shortly, but hamstrings are tricky. A long absence could damage the second-round pick's chances of assuming a large role in the opening-day offense.

If we had drafted him and this had happened in our TC, Op would be having an epileptic seizure right about now...

And that would be another reason why the Bills passed on him.

We would have had to sign him before he could even appear in our TC.

                From rotoworld:

Falcons CB Von Hutchins had surgery to repair a Lisfranc fracture Monday. He will be placed on injured reserve, ending his season.

Hutchins, Atlanta's projected nickel back behind Chris Houston and Brent Grimes, got hurt on the first day of camp. The former Texan for $9 million in March and was the Falcons' most experienced corner. Atlanta's secondary looks awful on paper. Keep that in mind for fantasy matchup purposes.

                  From rotoworld:

Bengals coach Marvin Lewis revealed Monday that RE Antwan Odom has been diagnosed with a foot sprain and has no timetable to return.

While this is seemingly better news than a fracture or high ankle sprain, Odom could still be out awhile, especially if it's a Lisfranc sprain. Cincinnati opens the regular season on September 7 at Baltimore, giving Odom about five weeks to get ready. Frostee Rucker would probably start if Odom can't.

                    Per rotoworld:

Reggie Williams reinjured his knee Tuesday, his first day of training camp. He was carted off the field for more tests.

Williams was practicing for the second time on Tuesday, which is surprising for someone coming off a knee sprain. We've pegged Williams as a possible bust, and this doesn't help. In other rough Jaguars injury news, Starting C Brad Meester will be examined by Dr. James Andrews

                      Per rotoworld:

Cowboys coach Wade Phillips confirmed Tuesday that Terence Newman will miss at least three weeks with a "significant" groin injury.
Newman's MRI reportedly revealed a slight groin tear. Newman is coming off a Pro Bowl season, but he battled nagging injuries. Dallas has enviable cornerback depth with Anthony Henry, Adam Jones, and Mike Jenkins all in the mix. They can get by if Newman starts the year slowly.
Luckily, this will probably affect them very little with the high caliber depth they now have.

Wow...what bad luck. And here I was a few months back saying KC had one of the best drafts this year:

                          Per rotoworld:

Chiefs rookie DT Glenn Dorsey sprained his left knee during Saturday night's practice.

Bad luck for the Chiefs as first-round LT Branden Albert is already out for the preseason. Coach Herm Edwards called Dorsey week-to-week, and noted that the extent of the injury won't be known before an MRI. On the positive side, Dorsey walked off the field unassisted, and Edwards did not think it was serious.

Still do, I imagine Dorsey won't play till maybe game 3 of the preseason. Hopefully he cans till play though.

                              Per rotoworld:

Rookie Ryan Torain was carted off the Broncos' practice field after taking a hit in 9-on-7 drills Wednesday morning.
Torain was apparently crunched between LBs Jaime Winborn and Nate Webster, two over-30 linebackers we didn't know could still hit. The extent of Torain's injury is unknown, but the Rocky Mountain News says he stayed down for "several minutes" and was "shaken up" before getting up to grab some water.
