    Rut Roh- Favre to NYJ?

Just found out that Favre said he WOULD accept a trade to the jets and tampa, and coincidentally the jets just cancelled their practice today with no reason given.

Don't know what that means, but it sounds like something could be brewing? This info comes via WGR by the way.

anyone who says the jets arent miles better with favre instead of Pennington or Clemens knows nothing about football.

I hope this deal dont happen.. Bret pushes Buffalo down to 3rd in the East, IMO.

The jets badly need a QB. They get Favre and they probably contend, especially with that defense that should be sick this year.

If Favre goes to the Jets and Peters doesn't play, we'll be 2-4 in the division.

Keep in mind this is a Jet's defense that went out and got Kris Jenkins to anchor their DL, very much like we did with Stroud. They also signed Calvin Pace, who had 6.5 sacks at LB last year. Of course, they already have Kerry Rhodes, perhaps the most underated player in the entire NFL. Darrelle Reevis looks like a lockdown corner already, and I dont even know where to start with David Harris; that dude is just a flat-out beast. Favre might not play as well as he did last year, but even at his worst he's far better than Pennington or Clemens. There's no way he doesnt make that offense signficantly better if he lands there, and the defense is already just about good enough. Anyone who dismisses the Jets as a threat to us if they land Favre is laughable to say the least.

Bring it. Favre will make that team better for what? a year or two? Then they're back in the same boat.

If we can't beat Favre w/ the Washington Wizards...er...NY Jets then we don't deserve to be talking about playoffs this year. Tougher competition within the division is only going to make our team stronger.

I ain't scared of no ghosts.

we can bluff.. because Peters will lose millions

Seriously does anyone believe for a single second that Peters is going to to cut off his own financial arm.

I beleive he will get a raise, but not until he shows up and starts behaving like a man who is dedicated to the team that is going to shell out 50 million.

and Farve to the Jets is extremely overrated.. does anyone really beleive he will walk into NY and just light it up. he'l struggle and wish he stayed retired IMO. It takes time ot develope team chemistry and learn a completely different offensive system.

Let me ask you a simple yes or no question.

Are the jets better with favre at QB than they are with Pennington or clements? Yes, or no. If your answer is no, I'd LOVE to hear your explanation how.

As Bills fans hoping for the best, lets hope he ends up in Tampa or somewhere other than NY.

True.> but you dont find it odd the jets cancelled practice today without giving a reason, and Favre says that he would accept a deal to NY when previous reports said he wasn't interested?

It could all be hearsay and just a rumor, but the two things happening today are not rumors, they are facts.

Favre would be a definite upgrade for them but he doesn't scare me nearly as much as a Brady or a Manning, especially at 38 years old.

Anyway, if they get him, they get him - if you can't beat teams with good QB's then we're screwed anyway.

The Jets will be better with Favre, but not right away. Favre's been running WCO all his career. Learning this new offense in NY will take some time. Unfortunately we don't play the Jets until week 9, by that time Favre should be humming along in that system.

from PFT. Looks like the jets did cancel practice today.. Not saying it has anything to do with Favre.

                              JETS CANCEL MONDAY PRACTICES

Posted by Mike Florio on July 28, 2008, 10:21 a.m. EDT
The New York Jets have announced that both practices set for Monday, July 28 have been canceled.
No reason was given for the decision to pull the plug on the 8:45 a.m. EDT and 5:45 p.m. EDT sessions.
Practice resumes on Tuesday, with two sessions.
Meanwhile, the players will get an unexpected day off, fairly early in the training-camp process.
