Bengals | C. Johnson says he will fight Palmer
Tue, 29 Jul 2008 15:53:05 -0700 TSN reports Cincinnati Bengals (http://www.kffl.com/team/12/nfl) WR Chad Johnson (http://www.kffl.com/player/410/nfl) (ankle) said him and QB Carson Palmer (http://www.kffl.com/player/5892/nfl) are going to fight. "Me and Carson, I mean, we're fighting and bickering a lot and he's pissing me off," Johnson said. "But other than that, you know, it's cool." The reporter doing the interview then laughed at Johnson's response but Johnson said he was serious. "Why are you laughing?" he asked. "I'm serious." The reporter responded saying it was hard to tell if he was serious. "I'm serious," Johnson stated again. "Carson and I are going to fight in camp. I'm just telling you now. We're going to frustrate each other, and I'm going to hit him in his knee - the bad one… We have a great relationship but sometimes you fight."

Randy Lange (http://www.kffl.com/link/130), of NewYorkJets.com (http://www.kffl.com/link/198), reports the New York Jets (http://www.kffl.com/team/27/nfl) released SS Darnell Bing (http://www.kffl.com/player/13442/nfl) Tuesday, July 29.

First off, I seriously hope Chad is joking. If not he ought to be thrown out of camp and probably the NFL. The guy has been a monsterous douche, if hes serious, this is the straw...

The next two are players that were highly thought of coming out of college. Bing is a player that was highly touted at USC, a SS prospect as I remember. Why does that not make sense for depth?

He was a 4th round draft pick that has been cut by 3 teams.

Bing can't cover at all, he is completely lost as a DB. He got away with it at USC, but in the NFL his doesn't have a position. The Raiders were thinking of converting him to LB, but he hurt his neck and it didn't work out. In the end he is a S/LB 'tweener who can't play either position well enough to justify keeping him on a roster.

There are guys who are hybrid LB/S, but only a few teams have schemes that use that kind of player.

hmmm, would i rather have the peters hold out situation which is fairly normal around the league, or would i want my star receiver threatening to fight my star QB? hmmmm, i don't know. this one's a toss up.

it would be awesome to see chad throw with palmer.. i really dont know that chad would win.. can you imagine if he started a fight and palmer whipped his ass? that would be so awesome.. they would show it over and over on sportcenter.. palmer could hit him like that wrs from washington, westbrook, hit steven davis several years ago.. and absolute beat down.

What's hilarious to me is that a few years ago, when he was making posters and stuff, everyone kept saying "He's a good person." It was obvious to me, he was a whore. And with all whores, when they lose that attention, they get desperate and become depressed. He's got psychological issues that need to be dealt with.

Detriot picked up Bing to try as a project LB. He may fit as an undersized LB in a Tampa-2, which is what Detriot plays, but it is a longshot he makes the conversion.

I'm pretty sure Johnson was joking. Just trying to get the media to talk about him again. He knows the media and fans are a bunch of school girls just looking for some drama to talk and whine about.

Ironically, Wire is drawing praise (http://www.ajc.com/uga/content/sports/falcons/stories/2008/08/04/falcons_linebacker_wise_impressive.html) from Atlanta HC Mike Smith:

Now, eight months after his operation and feeling no mental or physical side effects, Wire is with the Falcons. He's quickly made an impression as Michael Boley's backup at weakside linebacker and a key special teams player.

"Probably the guy that showed the most and flashed the most Friday and Saturday was Coy Wire and he's only been with us for about a week," said Falcons coach Mike Smith, referring to the team's full-scale scrimmage and simulated game, respectively. "Of all the guys we weren't aware of what they could do, he's probably the guy who showed the most."

I don't take anything Chad Johnson says seriously, but I still find it funny how many people around here were so adament all off-season about wanting that jerk off on our team.
