The most productive wide receiver in this year's draft is from Michigan, but, no, it's not Charles Rogers. Sure, Rogers is the best at his position and should be the second choice overall, but he didn't score 35 times last year and he didn't produce a touchdown in 23 consecutive games.
David Kircus did, which is why the Grand Valley State star will have his name called this weekend.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Kircus won't be drafted in the first round. He probably won't be drafted the first day, either. But he will be chosen, perhaps as early as the fourth or fifth round, and consider that a tribute to a laundry list of accomplishments that included an NCAA record for career catches (241), 76 touchdowns and MVP honors at the Hula Bowl.

It's not that Kircus was superior to the competition. It's that he was dominant, with one NFL scout comparing him to former wide receiver Don Beebe. Beebe was fast. He played at a small school (Chadron State). He scored 13 touchdowns his senior season. And he went on to appear in six Super Bowls.

If I'm Kircus, I hope to be another Beebe.
