View Full Version : "We've improved"

Every single team in the NFL improved this year... or they think they did. What's funny though is that no matter what there will be the same amount of losses and the same amount of wins collectively between the 32 teams every year. The argument that says: "We added this player which equals one more win" doesn't mean crap when the other team added another player to negate it and still be better than your team. Don't count your chickens before they hatched.

Stroud > Trip
Poz + digi > Digi
Ko > No Ko

Te 2nd year > Rookie TE

Fairchild gone > fairchild in buffalo
Hardy > any redzone threat of last year

i think the giants lost alot of talent and the patriots while i think we lost players but filled in very well

Actually, very valid question...
Not sure how Mcnally leaving will effect us at this point. Had this been a topic of conversation two years ago I would have said it would be devastating. Now I'm not sure. As I look back at our oline performance under Mcnally I have to admit it was a bit underwhelming. But then I wonder if he was responsible for Peter's development? So as of right now I'm really not sure how this shakes out.

I can admit this without any hesitation: While I think its evident that we've at least moved towards making improvements, some of those moves are suspect. What happens if Stroud goes down or flunks a substance abuse test? Can Mitchell play at the level we think he can? Is Trent Edwards going to emerge this year into the QB Walsh and others thought he could be or is he just another Kelly Holcomb type? As a Bills fan I obviously hope for the best, but I think, as much heat as Opi does take from time to time, there are reasons to be concerned.
That being said there are many reasons to be optimistic as well. Poz coming back is a major step in the right direction and when you look Poz, Crowell, and Mitchell lined up next to each other it doesn't take too big an imagination to see the potential for an explosive, physical lb corps this year. Our DB's by all accounts should be better this year with the return of Simpson and the addition of Mclevin. James was a nice pick up and Greer, although small, plays smart football for the most part. We finally added some size at receiver and this can only help in the red zone area where we were so weak before. Its a lot of ifs, but that is the case with any team heading into a new season. Again I'd like to take the position that we've made key moves to improve, but as always I take a wait and see position. Either way, I'm excited about the upcoming season.

Marv Levy was GM in name only. The same guys we currently have were running the show all along.

No it isn't obvious. You could have meant Marshawn Lynch. Since most of us think you may be slightly ******ed we could have assumed you thought he was off the team for some reason or another.

Dummy doesn't talk much smack to fin fans because the Bills have been equally as bad since 1996. Hard to talk smack when your own team has blown for so long.

I agree. I don't talk smack either for the same reason. I will however call out FTP's ridiculous rants.

Impressive! You don't have tickets this year? Is that why the record is on the line?

I think this year is make or break for the Bills. No excuses, man.

I was not convinced that Stroud was going to come in and be this good already. He looks like the real deal.

Mitchell has looked like an upgrade as well. Poz is swarming and bigger. So the D is already better. How are we not improved when didn't lose anybody???

The O didn't lose anybody either and replaced Price with Hardy. Marshawyn will be a second year player and Jackson will be a full time back up and an offensive threat. Granted not shocking changes but we won't be worse.

The funny part is, the only team in the league GUARANTEED to be improved is the Dolphins.

Then again, going 2-14, while still an improvement isn't anything to celebrate about.
