On a beautiful Monday afternoon, I arrived at the Buffalo Bills training camp at St. John Fisher, eager to see the players strut their skills in front of me. As has been noted by others before, the shuttle buses have changed from comfortable air-conditioned smooth luxury rides, to crampy, hot school buses.
Still, I can’t complain. The cost of the shuttle has remained $1.
According to a friend of mine, who recently visited the Giants training camp in Albany, they had no shuttles and were forced to walk a good 20 minutes or so from the designated parking areas. Not a bad walk, but under a relentless sun in the afternoon it could be – not to mention the extra allocation time this increases toward your trip. The area to sit and watch in the Giant’s training camp was in endzone areas that made it difficult to see the opposite side, and the seats the seats were limited. In fact, he told me that maybe there were half the people in attendance, compared to the typical attendance he has seen at the Bills training camp. Overall, he called the Bills training camp experience and order of magnitude better that what the Giants offered.
