    Chris Ellis

Hey, you guys that have been to camp, how has Chris Ellis been looking? We hear alot about Hardy, and McKelvin, and earlier in the spring, Fewell said that he had to chew out Ellis a couple of times. I'm curious to know if he's turned it around and having a better camp.

    Thanks!!

    Re: Chris Ellis

I talked to Mikey and hammerbillsfan, who were at camp early in the week. They both said Ellis was looking better.

Anyone care to confirm or comment on how he's done the last 2 or 3 days?

      Re: Chris Ellis

When I was there, Ellis looked lost and like he didnt belong. 1 time in particular, they did a drill with just the DE rushing a Tackle, Ellis jumped the snap 3 times in a row when a coach was barking out a generic cadence. Then when he finally didnt jump offsides, he was dominated and pancaked. That was a little over a week ago though, and Ive been told (mainly from people on here) that he is turning things around as of late.

My expectations of him as a rookie are to come in on 3rd downs and get to the QB and to provide some rest for Schobel. I want him to show some talent, and not look lost.

Hell, we invested a 3rd round pick on the guy, he sould be able to compete for some playing time.

I'd say I expect at least 5 sacks from him and maybe that many QB pressures/hurries.

BTW, I heard that Ellis looks 100X better than he did last week, when Fewell pretty much called him out publicly, and that he's the fastest DL off the snap.

I epect him to fill the roll of Hargrove, A ST player, maybe 3.5 sacks provide som rush off the edge, I say him at last thursdays nite practice he is athletic and has good moves, just need to bulk up a little

Spencer Johnson is ahead of him on the depth chart right now as the 4th DE (Denney third)..

Ellis won't have a hargrove type role in 2008. It's going to take him some time and adjusting.

2 games, 2 sacks and 1 forced fumble.

lets hope it continues. he is off to an excellent start for sure.
