That is all it took to confirm my thoughts about Perry Fewell. Just as I expected, nothing will change from our defense last year. Our DBs will still play 5 yards off the receiver and give them tons of cushion so every 3rd and 8 can and will be converted. I couldn't stand Fewell's defense last year and it looked identical last night. I am not talking about execution. I am talking about scheme. Bump the ****ing receiver at the LOS!

On the 1st series, they played closer and we actually saw a pass breakup on 3rd down.

Then Stroud came out for the night and the old prevent D kicked in. Puzzling.

I actually hope Stroud is hidden until the opener. He's the key to the D.

Unfortunately a lack of defensive talent and a rash of injuries led to Perry's job being salvaged.

He is a horrible defensive coordinator.

Any out of the box coordination doesn't come from him. I can promise you that.

The guy just isn't that smart and he is nothing more than a corporate survivior.
