    Os is retiring

WNSA is now reporting that Jerry Ostroski will retire at a 3:30 press conference due to his knee.

    Cap savings 2002: $1.75 million
    Cap savings 2003: $1.00 million
    Cap savings 2004: $2.00 million

Bills currently ~$3.65 mil under the cap (top 51)...when you factor in the top 53 they are ~$3.0 mil under.

Could we have signed Sam Adams if he retired last week?

I'm tired of hearing about Sam Adams, unless it's the ale of course.

That's EXACTLY what I was thinking! We would be able to afford his contract or a trade for him or someone else. Or maybe they'll use the money to grab someone in the waiverwire. Hmmmmm.

3 million bucks?!?! That's exactly what we need. If we cant find someone to help the DL or OL...i say we work on extending contracts. Antoine Winfield is one of the ones I can think of....

He was a great man, but why would we want to sign a guy that died almost 200 years ago? Sure he organized the Boston Tea Party, but a modern day DT?

I don't want any guy wearing a blouse and a wig playing DT- and what's up with the big buckles on the shoes?

Winfields base is $450,000 this year and $375,000 next year...go ahead and extend him but you'll only save enough to buy some used footballs.

not that there's anything wrong with that.

He would have been cut. I guess he wants to go out on his own terms - sort of. I wish him the best.

If JO is retiring then the OL needs reinforcements as well. This should make for an interesting 2 weeks before the season begins.
