ESPN just reported Pats have offered their two 1st rounders plus more to the Lions for their #1.

I hope to god the Lions take it.

They're stupid if they don't.

Man, every AFCE team is trying to outdo the other. I wonder what TD is up to. I wonder if the fins can find a way to keep up with the rest of the AFCE in the draft.

Now that would suck. Pats would get Robertson and Jets would get Andre Johnson and they would forget about losing Coles. I don't like how this draft is turning out so far lol.

Are you sure they don't want another pick from the lions - like a third or something?

I'm sure the Lions could get a good reciever for Harrington at 14.

haha.. the pats are trying to ruin their draft just to beat out the jets .. rofl..

good.. let other divisions get stronger by this draft.. let the jets and pats give up all their picks to screw themselves with a high priced rookie that may or may not be a bust.

Yeah, but according to some reports i read on the internet and from MSG, the Jets dont really care who they get between: Robertson, Johnson, Rogers.

This is why our GM preaches "never get attached to a prospect"... you'll start to do stupid things. Both the Jets or the Pats could get Kennedy (who is far superior to Robertson) in the 5-9 range... why the Pats are so focused on him to do this is beyond me...

Tatonka, can you do me a favor and get rid of one of the graphics? It's slowing down my machine. Thanks.

Using that value chart, the Pats would have to offer both 1sts, their 2nd, their 3rd, and a 6t rounder just to make it a fairly even trade. However the Lions have the Pats by the boys and can ask for more.

They can do whatever the hell they want, they still aren't adressing other key needs on their teams. I dont care who they pick we'll cover him or block him or tackle him or whatever him! They can pay them millions of dollars and screw themselves let them! At the end of the day we're still a better team.

Agreed. Well said.

The only player in this draft that I would be worried about coming to the AFCE is Terence Newman, This guy could shut down Moulds.

?

umm... rookie corners rarely can shut down anyone.

gotcha... well the only corner I've seen shut down Moulds is Law.

I hope the Pats do it. Giving up 4 picks to move up? Crazy!

This draft may turn out pretty good. Both NE and NY paying high contracts for maybe a WR who will take a couple years to be top notch. And maybe a DT, who granted is good, but doesnt really scare me as much as a stud DE would. It would really be nice if Miami didnt get a tackle this year.

If NY(or NE) gets Robertson it would make Jeff Faine all the more appealing.

any chance that if the pats move up they take rogers? they aren't exactly loaded at WR...

No... I'm sure this is for Robertson

good. what a waste of cash and picks they use to trade up.

They should have pulled the trigger on the trade with the bears when they could. Now they are gonna pay for it if the want to get their man.

The Jets get their revenge!

I think the Lions should pull the trigger. Rogers is not worth two number ones and a second. New England might even give them next years number three to boot. The Lions need help in so many areas, they would be foolish not to take 3-4 picks for essentially Rogers

Doc

Actually it would take the Pats' 1st 4 picks THIS year to get the deal done. Next year a number three could end up being in essence a low 4th (i.e. end of 3rd round) rounder.

Not necessarily- that is what the Lions are asking for, but they may take New England's top three this year and New Englands third round pick next year. Or at least they should take it. They need multiple players.

Go Bills!!!!

The 3rd this year is #75 overall, which is pretty high. Next year it could be in the latter third of the round. No the Lions hold the cards here.

I love seeing the Patriots get burned by te Jets but it is their own fault for getting greedy with the Bears. Patriots management seem like boys among men.
The only problem is if Detoit trades with NE then either Rogers or Johnson falls to the Jets and WR is their biggest weakness offensively. They will be getting a future all-star. I much rather have them get Robertson.

According to this article a Pats trade up seems unlikely...it has a few quotes from Bellichick and he says that he didn't trade up with the Bears because it was too expensive, so it is unlikely he would give up even more to move to #2.
