    Seems like this belongs elsewhere.

Although, I admit this would have been big news 5-10 years ago.

Seau, Harrison, Lynch, Bruschi (cant spell), Jordan, and Brady (used to be). In a few years, these guys cant even get a senior discount.

I believe you guys are EXTREMELY underestimating the patsies.

If he signs there he will be an all star. plain and simple. This team has a well-documented history of doing such things with players exactly like lynch...so what makes you think this one will fail?

I obviously hate this news and hope that maybe some other team signs him so he can go rot into nothingness.

Lynch is sloooow. If he's got anything left, it'll be in packages against short down and distance eg expected running plays.

If they sign him he probably will play the hybrid LB/S role they use in sub defenses. They like to use a 3rd S and line him up in the box as a LB. It allows them to stay in their base offense, but have more of a nickel look. Since the offense is prolific and they are ahead a lot, they face a lot of teams that are passing the ball.

That is what they were doing with Tank Johnson before he hurt his knee and went on IR. Lynch would probably fill the role envisioned for Tank.

I think the most interesting thing about his being signed would be having Lynch and Rodney Harrison on the field at the same time. Two of the most-notorious headhunters and most fined players in the history of the game in the same defense.

Old and good is a lot better then young/s_ucky.

36 in todays athletic world is just fine, compared to 36 a few decades ago.todays athlete works out/eats right religiously year round now.

Lynch has never been a speed demon,he's been smart and tough and can read a offense a be 2 steps ahead, and he's gonna excel on a great team.

The man is talented and can play football at a very high level---

                        The Pats signed Lynch:

1 Year/$1.5M. They likely see him playing a lot of sub-situations, in a hybrid LB/S role.

                          Lovely...

We'll have a safety running over our center now.
