Bills, Evans getting closer to extension?

I saw this last night on WGRZ and found a link this AM:

NOTES: Evans said Wednesday that talks between the Bills and his agent are progressing and he's hoping a long-term extension could be finalized before the start of the season.
"The quicker we get it done the better," said Evans. "It would be one less thing to worry about or even think about. We're getting closer, closer than we have been, so that's a good sign that we're taking steps in the right direction.'' ...

Its pretty evident to me that he's unhappy with his situation.

I really hope so! It's nice to see Lee talking about it and he seems pretty optimistic about Buffalo extending him. If we lock up Evans, we will have a solid offense around any QB that plays for Buffalo. Whether that's Trent, Losman or an incumbent, we have alot of solid players locked up on offense for the next 3-5 years. If we could just get some production out of QB we would have a really good team.

Didn't you read yesterdays thread ? Lee isn't happy.

Evans upset with stagnant offense: Buffalo Bills fans worried about this year's offense initially looking no better than last year's anemic attack aren't alone. Receiver Lee Evans (http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/players/playerpage/492932) shares the concerns after what he saw in the Bills' preseason opener. "No doubt about

              this is good news....

hopefully lee becomes more of a leader this season with the younger players, mainly since the other guy that recently signed long term..Schobel...doesnt really seem like the leader type. (like him as a player)

Setting forth an example of WANTING to stay here, despite all the **** this offense has been through can only help this team in the long run

I don't know if some of you are sarcastic here, but to me everything is moving along, and Lee continues to be extremely professional throughout this process.

I'm sure anytime you are crossing the t's and dotting the i's on a big time pay raise that frustration definitely factors in, but when your dealing with huge money these things do require time and patience... and again Lee is proving by the way he handles himself that he is very professional, and Lee is also proving to be a team leader and team player by just being there in camp throughout this process.

Lee has earned more of my respect by the way he has handled himself through this process.

unlike someone else we are all frustrated with.

I think at a minimum if he signs before the season starts, you’re looking at a deal similar to Bernard Berrian, who signed a six year deal for $42 million, $16 million guaranteed and about $23 million in the first three years of the deal.

I don’t think he’ll sign for anything less, and I’m not even sure he’d sign for the numbers Berrian did, since I’m certain he feels that he’s a better receiver.

But anyway, that’s likely the ballpark numbers Evans is looking for.

Which, honestly Pat is not bad at all. We've been spending cash-to-cap for a reason....have enough money to re-sign our own. Somtheing we haven't done enough of the last 8 years or so

Even if Evans gets more than Berrian (which he deserves) I wouldn't be pissed.

If Evans got that deal, I think it would be a great deal for the Bills.

That could be a low-end deal. There shouldn't be a reason in the world to not give him that deal if those numbers are even close to what Lee is looking for.

This can't be true. We all know Ralphie is an old miser that doesn't give one crap about a winner or the fans.

we'll have to wait on that. Lee is just a piece to the puzzle. The other important piece is still out there, Peters. Without Peters, Lee won't have time to run deep routes.
