The Patriots have already turned down one trade that would move them up into the top five of today's NFL draft. They aren't about to bite on another.

``It was just too expensive to go up there,'' said coach Bill Belichick yesterday afternoon in explaining why the Pats passed on sending Chicago two first-round picks in exchange for the Bears' fourth selection. ``We would rather get two players in the upper echelon than have that one pick.''

The Pats will surely move around the board today - maybe up a few spots from No. 14 to nab Georgia defensive tackle Johnathan Sullivan, or down a few spots from No. 19 to get a cornerback - but they aren't expected to make the dramatic jump that has been rumored over the last few days....
