Hawaii coach sees resemblance to Seau in former Vista star
There was nothing cavalier about the statement. June Jones would never be so disrespectful as to nonchalantly liken another player to Junior Seau, the former Chargers great and future Hall of Famer whom Jones coached for one season in San Diego. That's why Jones paused yesterday when discussing the abilities of another linebacker who grew up in North County.
"He's got a chance to be one of those special guys," Jones said of Pisa Tinoisamoa, the former Vista High standout whom he coached the past four years at the University of Hawaii. "The guy's got unbelievable ability. He's a little like – and I don't like to do this – but he's a little like Junior.
