With No. 24 pick, team may have to alter draft strategy
Bill Polian walked out of the Union Federal Football Center on Friday night, the exhaustive evaluation process leading up to today's NFL draft completed and the Indianapolis Colts' strategy crystallized.
But the team's president and personnel supervisor won't know until the early phase of the 32-selection first round unfolds whether the blueprint can be followed or must be altered.
That's the downside of holding the 24th pick in the first round. So much can transpire before you're on the clock.
"We won't really get a fix on what might happen for us until we get to about (picks) 12 or 13," Polian said. "At that point, we'll see some things developing...
