OpIv37

must be an unwritten rule- if you wear #23, you have to injure the starting QB in training camp.

If it is knee, it is not a "thank God" scenario.

There have been a few players who have played a game with a broken leg. As long is its not his arm, than he should be ok.

On another note, now he will be in the same catagory with Manning and Brady. All starters with knee injuries.

I think Brady's ankle is hurt. And Manning wasn't really injured. Just had an infected bursa sack.

The fact that we went 7-9 with all our players injured at 1 point in the season. The fact that Leon Joe came in and started a few games. The fact that we not only got better, we also had a top 5 offseason and draft. That should equal to at least 9-10 games.

NONE of those injuries were on O. They were all on D- and the only person we added to the O was Hardy.

THIGH CONTUSION FOR EDWARDS: Following a practice in which Trent Edwards suffered an injury head coach Dick Jauron brought everyone up to speed on the details.
"Early in practice there was a minor collision in the backfield where Trent suffered a quad contusion," said Jauron. "It was a pretty deep one so they took him in to treat it quickly and try to get it before it swelled. The collision was with Marshawn. Marshawn's knee was a little bit sore, by the end of practice so we took him off too, but he finished the whole practice, but hopefully they'll be fine as we move forward."

I would just like to know what makes them look great? I mean what are you basing this "greatness" on? You have a bunch of unprovens, and a couple of veterans from other teams that weren't exactly lighting up the league from where they came. More from AP:

Coach Dick Jauron said trainers began treating the injury immediately to reduce any potential swelling after Edwards walked off the field with a slight limp. Jauron said it was too early to determine whether Edwards would be able to practice Wednesday or play in Buffalo's preseason game at Indianapolis on Sunday.
"We'll just have to wait and see what tomorrow holds for it so I'll wait until the morning," Jauron said. "Sometimes they come back very quickly, and sometimes they don't. Sometimes it turns into a deep bleeding thing and we're hoping it's not that."

Lets see. A pro bowl DE. A Pro bowl DT. A former 1st round pick. A LB who started on the superbowl winners. 2 LBs who were in the top 20 in tackles. 1 LB who was on verge for 160 tackles. A CB who has playoff experience. A SS who knocked out Chad Johnson. A CB who was rated as the number 1 CB in college. A CB who almost shut out TO. And last, 2 CBs who led the league in YPC. Also a CB with 4 INTs which is tied for 6, with a bunch of others.

Lets see. A pro bowl DE.

Not lately!

A Pro bowl DT

Not in for like, the last 3-4 years!

A LB who started on the superbowl winners.

Yet he didn't make the probowl! Whats that tell ya?

2 LBs who were in the top 20 in tackles.

Oh well that's greatness right there!! If that's great there must be a tone of SUPERB LB's all over the NFL!!

1 LB who was on verge for 160 tackles.

Uh huh, who would that be??

A CB who has playoff experience.

This makes him great?

A SS who knocked out Chad Johnson.

Getting dumber by the minute!

A CB who was rated as the number 1 CB in college.

I'm guessing we're talking about a rookie?

A CB who almost shut out TO.

Are you serious with this list??

2 CBs who led the league in YPC.

What is YPC? I didn't know that stat existed for the Defense.

Also a CB with 4 INTs which is tied for 6, with a bunch of others.

OK well tied for 6th in INT's makes someone great...I guess.

Well that was fun and all that greatness produced the 31st ranked defense in the league, but they're Great on paper!!!!!

One of the most beautiful sights in the whole world. Now if you lot would stop quoting him, I could avoid everything he says.

Edwards isn't practicing this morning. Not really surprising since its only about 12 hours since the last practice ended.

EDWARDS NOT PARTICIPATING: Trent Edwards is not participating in practice after suffering a thigh bruise last night. He's watching from beneath the goal posts and is wearing sweatpants.

I still want to see Edward play a quarter Sunday... I would hope a thigh bruise is not enough to keep him from getting reps.

I simply must have affirmation about him after the great show against Pitt.

don't the lion share of coaches take precautions with their starters during the preseason? i don't buy that Trent has to prove how tough he is or take away the injury prone status in camp.

he'll have to do that during the regular season. but if its a minor injury and he'll look better vs seattle with time off now, he should get time off. he can showcase a winner's attitude and grit during the regular season and playoffs.
