Youboty Unlikely to be traded to Cleveland

Not that it was anything more than a dime a dozen rumor to begin with, but Cleveland just traded for a young corner, all but eliminating any possibility of trading with Buffalo for Ashton Youboty..

    Per PFT:
    DOLPHINS TRADE DANIELS TO BROWNS

Posted by Michael David Smith on August 20, 2008, 2:34 p.m.
The Miami Dolphins have announced the trade of cornerback Travis Daniels to the Cleveland Browns.
In exchange for Daniels, Cleveland sent an undisclosed draft pick to Miami.
Daniels was a fourth-round draft pick in 2005, and he was a favorite of Nick Saban, who coached him both at LSU and with the Dolphins. He started 14 games as a rookie.
But Daniels started just six games in 2006 and five in 2007, and he was in danger of getting cut before the season. He’ll have a chance to compete for a starting spot in Cleveland.

You could be right if they only keep five corners. I think if they keep 6 WR they will only keep 5 corners. But the feeling here is they keep six corners for a total of 11 DBs.

If they keep six then James and Youboty likely both make the team (Greer, McGee, McKelvin, Corner being the other four)

But if they only keep five, between James, Youboty and Corner one of them is out (Corner going to PS is a possibility of course)

The reason I lean towards the Bills keeping James is a lack of experience behind the starters. McKelvin and Corner are both rookies, and Youboty despite going into year three hasn’t proven anything.

I liked Youboty in the Washington game and figured that he was a dark horse at the beginning of TC but if he played like that he would make the team, then he got toased by Holmes against Pittsburgh.

Never knew he was going to get traded to the Browns in the first place. It's a bit early to give up on him.

Wonder what the Fins got. Maybe a 6th? I wouldn't have traded Youboty for anything less than a 4th.

There is a surprise guy in the DBs who has done well and is a ST ace in Dustin FOx, he can also play Saftey, i think it shapes up like this Greer, McGee, McKelvin, Youboty Corner

              Fox, Wendling, Scott, Whitner Simpson

i think james and Wilson get cut

Wrs Parrish, Reed, Hardy, Evans, Johnson, Jenkins,

Re: Youboty Unlikely to be traded to Cleveland

Having 4 solid CB's is certainly not a bad thing.
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
"Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
                It was all
true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can
mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

I would be shocked if Wilson got cut.

Not at all, the Browns would likely be in contention for a Super Bowl right now if they had just two solid Corners.

I would've agreed with this if I didn't see that "game" on Monday night. Yikes.

I thought he played better last year than Simpson had the year before.
