New code of conduct at the Ralph

How do you think the new policy will effect the games at the Ralph? Just how strict will it be? I can't see them kicking people out for trash talking the opposing fans.

Will it change the energy in the stadium, because we all know, a lot of the energy is fueled by alcohol.

-- Behavior that is unruly, disruptive, or illegal.

-- Drunkenness and signs of alcohol impairment that result in irresponsible behavior.

-- Foul or abusive language or obscene gestures.

-- Interference with the progress of the game, including throwing objects onto the field.

-- Failing to follow instructions of stadium personnel.

-- Verbal or physical harassment of fans from the opposing team.

well your second bullet might affect me, at the Monday nighter last year I was so drunk I couldnt find my seats and was wandering the stadium, had to ask an usher where I was....I was on the entirely wrong end of the stadium.

I dont think they will crack down too hard though, there are 80,000 people screaming after all and it will be way too hard to enforce these rules very thoroughly. People just dont need to be ignorant and do blatant and easily visible bad things.

I don't like this at all because all the parts I put in bold are subjective. Any overzealous security guard can basically create whatever standards he wants and get someone thrown out of the stadium.

i like how they want to curb drunkenness, yet plaster booze everywhere around the stadium.

advertisements, the labatt blue rock pile, bully hill vineyards.

"sure, i'll buy you a bunch of batman action figures, but you can't ever play with them or even take them out of the box".

Look... this is like the seatbelt law the State Police use. It is a blanket law that allows Police to legally remove someone from the stadium that they deem a problem. If you act as a responsible adult, they aren't going to care what you do. It is the 0.01% of the fans... the real idiots who are drunk, fighting, throwing beer, etc that this is targeting.

If you are really concerned about about getting thrown out, you're probably an @$$hole anyway...

              Relax.

This sounds like when the government federalized the borders with homeland security agents. They are giving ******s guns and the ability to screw with people on a whim. We are slowly losing our freedoms in the BS name of security.

They don't kick people out of the 50 yard line seats, they just get escorted.

That's how it's intended. That may or may not be how it's actually implemented. Some *****y soccer mom thinks you and your friends are cheering too loudly or gets mad cuz her rugrat can't see when you stand up. Suddenly, you're "behaving irresponsibly" and "unruly" and using "abusive" language and your ass is bounced.

I try to act like a reasonable person at the Ralph, although I drink heavily, yell some, and have been known to exchange less-than-pleasant comments with opposing fans. I'll probably tone it down a bit with the new rules.

But what I like about the new code - if it's enforced - is that it could make going to other stadiums much nicer. I have been physically threatened by some real drunk, redneck Ravens fans, for instance, simply for wearing Bills attire and cheering them on at that stupid purple stadium in Baltimore. The new rules could reduce some of this kind of behavior.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

yeah, just like the patriot act only goes after the "bad guys"

i'm sure everybody loves these new rules, until it's them getting dragged out for whatever reason at the expense of some power hungry usher having a bad day. the guy behind you doesn't like you standing because he's sitting behind you? he now has grounds to get you booted. sounds like a fun time. soccer mom sally doesn't like the word "damn"? you're a goner.

sounds like a fun atmosphere the NFL has created. rich, snide, tattletales who want to sip latte's and eat caviar.

What if you are just drunk but not fighting, throwing beer etc, because that is me. Am I going to get thrown out for dropping F bombs?

pride got it right. this is going after the obvious jerks who are clearly out of control. the team doesn't want to irritate people with excessive tossing of fans. so it'll be extreme cases. and it'll give people who are watching some idiot who is standing on his chair asking to start the wave in the middle of a 0-0 game in the second quarter.

Drink all you want at the games, just don't act like an 16 year old who is trying it for the first time.

Also i agree with jan. other stadiums may become a little more pleasant.

Adults can't act like mature human beings in public. So rules have to be put in place to curb the lousy behavior.

Plus there are kids in the stands.
