Via V-text.
With surgery he could end up on IR, especially with the glut of CBs, WRs and maybe the Bills wanting to keep 4 RBs.
(And the injuries on the O-line)

which means he sits for the 1st 6 weeks of the season ???
or are you thinking season ending ?

Possibly season ending.
Like DB said earlier for a TE the thumb has to be 100% and with Schouman banged up, the roster space is tight.

This could mean bad news for Will James, George Wilson or a potential 7th LB. If he goes on IR and SChouman isn't 100% we probably keep 4 TE's on the roster.

Fine wasnt gonna contribute anyway, so i guess it is between Courtny Anderson, and massaqoui to back up injury prone schouman and royal
Good thing we addressed this position in the offseason with a highly touted FA class of Teyo Johnson and Courtney Anderson
and 4th round pick rated to be a Undrafted Free Agent in Fine
Start watching the waiver wire

That sucks, we definitely need to pickup a waiver wire TE imo.

I note a bit of sarcasm...just who should the Bills have signed?

there is a good cahnce of a serviceable TE becoming available with future cuts IMO. A much better chance at a serviceable TE over a serviceable OT.
At least Royal has looke dbette rthis preseaosn.
What's the status of Schouman ?
Fine looked ok for a rookie TE in Preseaosn, and we would have been set if it wasn't for the injury bug... Tis happens to all teams. Every team will have a weak position or 2 becuase of injury, etc...

Ben utecht
Algie crumpler
Marcus Pollard
Michael Gaines
Eric Johnson is still available
Ben Troupe
i am talking about the start of Free Agency
And they should have drafted a TE in Rd 3

Crumpler I will agree with. But then again about 10 teams had him on the radar.
Pollard? As we have seen was signed and cut and signed again.
Gaines? I wouldn't have minded but it isn't like he was an all star. Go with him, another vet making the minimum or a kid - any real difference?
There must be something wrong with Johnson as nobody has an interest in him.
Troupe? :::

Watch Royal go out and do well this season.
Eric Johnson please? In the draft, I would have made TE a priority and gone Rucker or McFinley.

Don't understand why Buffalo didn't go after Utecht. He was decent with limited opportunities in Indy last year and wouldn't have cost a whole lot to sign. That one really makes me scratch my head.

"Rucker (http://www.clevelandbrowns.com/article.php?id=8684)led the Browns with 5 catches for 70 yards in last week's preseason opener and was having a strong camp. But the Browns are not only deep at the tight end position; they're just getting healthy."
Why the heck did these guys have to trade up?
They are still in need of a CB.

He's looked pretty good with Cincy. He would have been a great signing. There was some discussion about him here ....
