Ashley Lelie was released by the 49ers today.

Yes I know that he hasn't played up to expectations since the Niners signed him but who plays up to expectations on that team.

Joe Horn still looking for work.

I don't advocate either of them as long term solutions but they could be decent stopgaps til Hardy and Johnson prove to be NFL ready. Both should come on the cheap too which is definitely a plus.

The last guy is something I advocate fully. As many of you probably remember my pimping of him before the draft even came.

Giants released Marcus Monk...Not saying he should be on the 53 man roster, but putting him onto the practice squad for a year I'd be all for.

Thoughts?

I'd honestly pass on all three; but if I had to pick one Lelie would be my pick.

Don't see any upgrades to what we already have. Our lower end WR's can play special teams.

i want us to sign anthony mix to the practice squad if he is eligible cas to me he's always looked like he had potential plus he'd be another large WR target if he ever made the team.....clearly i've never seen his faults cas he's always been good in my eyes...i also believe he'd be able to help out a little at TE cas i believe a remember hearing something relating to the TE position about him

NO thanks...Those vets(esp Caldwell & Horn) are / would play the same role that Josh Reed is already filling. & He know sthe playbook and the staff love the guy..

I'd be more interested in Roydell Williams than the three above mentioned. I just read that he was cut.

Add Bobbie Sippio to the list of WR's available. He's an "upside" guy but would be unlikely to make an immediate impact. Still, I would probably consider him over the three above mentioned WR's.

I like our WR's.

Evans,Reed,Parrish.. Hardy (6-5+) & Johnson (6-2) were drafted, bringing needed size. Jenkins can catch & is the main gunner on ST's.

I like our WR's as well, but sticking with the theme of the thread I'm adding a couple of guys I would personally like to see if we were in the market.

same here. we do have other priorites now because of Peters. Plus we need to get evans' contract fixed before we start bringing in more wrs

He'd definitely warrant a look yet it's going to be hard for him to supplant Josh Reed as the coaching staff obviously likes him to allow him to continue to stick around yet to me the Titans WR core on par with the Bills so not sure he'd be an improvement at all.
