He'll be giving up $4M (fines [$430k] plus loss of 10 game checks [$1.9M] plus loss of playing bonuses [$.15M] plus loss of portion of signing bonus [$1.5M]) if he sits out the first 10 games, and then there's no way the Bills give him a new deal next year. Jason, I know most fans call you selfish, but in any walk of life if we were top five in anything we'd be demanding a raise as well. However, this situation is bigger than you and even bigger than the bills organization. You outplayed your contract. We get that. You are a great tackle and you deserve all the kudos that come your way....
Remember though... you could be like the rest of us. You were undrafted. You were a rookie tight end. This organization made you. It took your natural talent, but that talent could have easily been washed away and you could be selling insurance...You deserve a raise, but play the game us fans would kill to play and reaffirm your elite status.
