The Jacksonville Jaguars have announced the acquisition of veteran cornerback Will James f/k/a William James f/k/a William Peterson f/k/a Will Peterson.
James was selected by the Giants in the third round of the 2001 draft. After overshadowing first-rounder Will Allen, Peterson got a relatively big-money extension. A back injury shortened his 2005 season to only two games, and the Giants later released him. He joined the Eagles during the 2006 season and spent all of 2007 there.
James signed with the Bills earlier this year, but was included among the final roster cuts on Saturday.
He has no prior experience either with Jags defensive coordinator Gregg Williams or with defensive backs coach Donnie Henderson.
