It appeared as though Kyle Williams was the frontrunner heading into the final week of the preseason, and when practice began for the first regular season game week it became official. The third-year defensive lineman will start at right defensive tackle after competing with the likes of Spencer Johnson and John McCargo throughout the preseason.

Originally posted by The SpazHe showed flashes last year and he obviously regressed. Also the Giants were rumored to snag McCargo if we didn't take him.
He showed some flashes last year but he needed to really have a good offseason. Im curious to see how the DT depth chart and rotation will shake out.COMING SOON...

Re: Williams lands RDT job
Great news although I feel Williams easily had the upper hand. McCargo is still trying to beat the inconsistant bounty on his head and Spencer had to learn a new defense as well as multiple positions in that defense.
Nobody should be counting out McCargo just yet. Shouldn't he get the same patience that was afforded to AY(by the staff, obviously not by this board)? This kid still has potential and will have time to prove it this season whether he starts or not as the scheme for this line is rotation heavy.
Either way, if everyone stays healthy I have no problems with our depth what so ever.
“Everybody wants to start, but it’s a very loose term in our defense,” Williams said. “With the guys we have now we feel like we really can rotate. Without a doubt you always want to be the guy out there. You always want to be the guy out there to make that play and obviously to be the first guy out there and the first line of defense is exciting. It’s great that the coaches want me to be the guy out there with Marcus.

Originally posted by cocamideI don't think it matters who starts; it's just a formality. We'll be rotating in and out so much that it really doesn't matter. Hopefully in the 4th quarter these guys aren't sucking wind
AFCE rb's will want a raise because they play the bills 2X a year.
