View Full Version : So where does that leave us?

Our OL is looking like it has no depth anymore.

Jennings, Brown, Teague, Sullivan, and Williams

with;

Conaty and Hulsey as the only two backups that I feel relatively confident with in relief.

Carman, Farris, Price, and Early I really don't want to see in there much except for occasional plays off.

Pucillo is too early to tell as a 7th round pick.

Not having a healthy Os will really hurt us! Two injuries to our starters at the same time and it won't be much better than last year.

Wys, I agree completely. I know I will get a lot of dookie for this, but resigning Fina for vet min wouldn't be such a bad idea. The added veteran depth would help some of the younger crew. Plus Fina is already familiar with Buffalo's scheme and signing a FA T would make it difficult getting him up to speed before regular season.

Obviously this wasn't part of TDs plans.

While this line is still somewhat of an upgrade over our 2001 O line, it's not by much...

Wys,

Price seems like a capable back up. He is not starter material, but he does have experiance. I'd trust him a little more than Hulsey.

From what I've seen, not even the starters make me feel good about this season right now. Teague is way overpaid at $2.5M/yr. w/ a $3.5M bonus! That was the worst signing of the year IMO. Meanwhile, guys like Naole went elsewhere for less.

Price, honestly, and I haven't seen all of every game, but from what I've seen, he's worth what he's getting paid.

Fina? The only way I'd want him back at RWS on Sundays is to speed the flow of the cars into the lots! He's got plenty of experience at expediting the flow around/past him!

There've got to be better OTs that we can get. I think you're forgetting just how bad he was last year and the year prior.

As it is, Williams is gonna have to speed up the educational process and Jennings is gonna have to feel much better in a hurry.

7 sacks in just over 4 Qs of play with the first unit.

I don't think that needs to be said twice. If we want Bledsoe to be around in week 16, then we'll need a major step-up in play of the OL!

Jeff, shame on you. Didn't your mother ever tell you to never say the four letter F word?

If the OL has to take a few penalties to keep the Jets from getting to Drew, then so be it. #1 rule: protect your QB.

But listen up, OL boys -- yeah, I'm talking to YOU -- if you know you've got to get tagged for a penalty anyway, make it count! Don't take 15 yards for a big nothing -- make sure they remember your number.

No thanks to Fina

There will be veteran OL released on final cutdown because of cap purposes, hopefully we can add one now that we're about $3 million UNDER the cap.

Either way, last week we took the penalties and sustained the sacks!
