Everett will be honored at opener

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP)—Kevin Everett will be honored while attending Buffalo’s season opener against Seattle on Sunday, a year after the former Bills tight end sustained a severe life-threatening spinal cord injury.

Everett, who has since made a remarkable recovery, is scheduled to be present to receive the Professional Football Writers of America’s Halas Award, which goes to the individual in the NFL who overcame the most adversity to succeed last season.

I would say that this will give us even more motivation to win on Sun. but we all know how it turned out last year against NE so....I'm glad he's being honored though....

I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
"Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
        It was all
true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can
mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

Can't wait that will pump up the crowd! I was kind of upset he wasn't present at the Giants game!

I wish it would say when it will be presented. If it is before the game, I think the crowd will be that much crazier. If at halftime, I think 65% will miss it.
