For what it's worth with crowell

I'm told the injury would keep him out 4-6 weeks, not 2-4 like originally reported.

I still think its complete idiocy to put him on IR.

They're going to replace his roster spot with Blake Costanza I'm told, who will only see the field for special teams. Why not let Crowell heal for 4-6 weeks and still have a high quality LB for the last 10-12 games of the season and possibly the playoffs?

WTF is Costanza going to bring to this team aside from an occasional nice special teams tackle?

    Mind-boggling senesless.

Not sure but I think that would've kept him out for the first six games.

WIth him becoming a FA at season's end, the bills basically cut him today.

not to be an *******, but Ellison was a starter last year and the reason why we signed K. Mitchell was because he failed miserably.

He's not physical enough and can't take on the physical runners.

Ellison is a decent backup, and that's what he should be.

            I'm fine with Poz-DiGirgio-Mitchell

WHy are you fine with a lineup that isn't happening?

Poz is staying in the middle, their isnt even talk of him moving to the outside. It's not happening.

Bills Could've Put Crowell on PUP? (More Injury News)

                PUP Rules from the NFL:
A player who begins the season on the PUP list must sit out his team's first six games. After that point, the player is allowed to practice with the team through Week 10 of the NFL season, and can be activated any time within that window. If the player is not activated by Week 10, he must stop practicing and is unavailable to be moved to the active roster for the remainder of the season.

Sometimes I think the fans are as clueless as the FO.

Move Poz to the outside after he's taken all these reps and everything at MLB? Just crazy. You shoul be afraid of ANY LB lineup that features Ellison as a starter.

BTW, pat, I must commend you. You really keep the BillsZone active for all those insomniac Zoners.

My understanding is that you could not PUP a player unless they came into training camp with an injury.
"'Clean up your room.', 'Stand up straight.', 'Pick up your feet.', 'Take it like a man.', 'Be nice to your sister.', 'Don't mix beer and wine, ever.'. Oh yeah, 'Don't drive on the railroad track.'"

"Eh, Phil. That's one I happen to agree with."

Re: For what it's worth with crowell

I heard that the Bills FO was extremely pissed off at crowell for deciding to have surgery now. So the Bills fired back by putting him on IR and basically saying good luck getting a big deal in Free Agency next year having knee surgery and being out of football for a year...If that's true thats a bold move. Eventhough Crowell is one of my favorite players on the team...
The last time the Bills made the playoffs was 1999.

Can we keep this stuff to one thread? This has been discussed.

A player cannot be put on the PUP if he starts training camp on the active roster. I made the same mistake with trusting grahams article before looking it up myself.
