All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
The Houston Texans released veteran linebacker Rosevelt Colvin and 20 other players Friday, the day before NFL teams must set their 53-man rosters.
The Texans signed Colvin in June after he was released by New England. They had hoped he could be a situational pass rusher, but decided he wasn’t valuable enough to take up a roster spot.
“The bottom line was to have a player on your team to just play nickel, he would have to be special,” coach Gary Kubiak said. “We had to sit there and weigh him against players who could play special teams and do some other things for our team.”
Colvin had recovered from a foot injury that kept him out of the last five games and the playoffs last season. However, he struggled since arriving in Houston and wasn’t anywhere close to becoming the pass-rushing threat opposite Mario Williams the Texans were looking for.
Colvin had 52z sacks in nine seasons in Chicago and New England.
Houston has one more cut to make and is evaluating running back Chris Brown to see if he is healthy enough to contribute this season. Brown, who was signed this offseason, has been struggling with back problems since the start of training camp.
Coy Wire has a job and Colvin doesn't. If Colvin has anything left , he could've beaten out guys like Wirefor a spot. IMO, Colvin may have become Jeff Posey.
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

The grass is always greener for these people. You just can't convince them otherwise...
I heard on NFLN that Colvin has lost his speed as lb after his injury and is too small to be a DE.
Think about it. If BB drops him and so did the texans why should we pick him up just because he has epxerience? Don't you think these teams would've kept him if that experience up'ed his game?
Colvin should've beaten Seau out of a job.
People were whining about us picking up BB garbage in Milloy and Drew. If we picked him up people would be whining about that again.
Ok fine **** Colvin but there has to be something out there better than Costanzo....
he isn't even signed yet is he? Let's start worrying if Costanzo ends up having to start for us. He may not even see the field as a lb'er. Until then, chill.
I am more talking about an upgrade over Ellison who was terrible last year.
Couldnt agree more thurm, he was pushed out of the play and run over with alraming regualrity
We need to sign and draft Lbers over 220lbs i dont understand all we do is bring in these tiny LBers, that contribute to the 30th ranked D nice...
