The Bills made an offensive line move on Monday, but it wasn’t the activation of left tackle Jason Peters. Buffalo signed offensive lineman Chris Denman to their practice squad.

The offensive tackle was a seventh-round draft pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2007, but spent the entire season on injured reserve after suffering a hand injury in the team’s final preseason game last year.

To make room on the practice squad for Denman, Buffalo waived offensive lineman Dustin Dickinson.

Hmmm this likely means PatMoran is right...good bye Matt Murphy. We cannot afford to put Bell on the PS or someone will grab him immediately. Bell has more promise than Murphy at this point. It makes sense to let Murphy go, though I feel bad for him b'cse he moved from TE to OL based on the FO's request and now he'll likely be let go.

But from a business POV it makes sense that they would grab another OT and put in the PS as a just in case...Dickinson was apparently not the one they wanted to develop...

If they want to keep him, they can put him on IR. He won't be able to practice with the team and they will have to pay him, but he can still work on putting on more weight while rehabbing and take a shot at making the team next season.

Putting him on IR would also be one way that they could reward him for attempting to make the move from TE to OT. He gets paid for the season and medical care for his injury. Not bad considering that he is unlikely to get picked up by any other team this season: who wants a banged up, overweight TE or undersized OT?
