    Zone Original: Bryan Ault

    The Zone's post game review:

First and foremost, props to the entire coaching staff: Jauron, Fewell, Schonert and April.

Fewell had well-timed, creative blitzes that kept the pressure on Hasselbeck all day. April had his players motivated and threw some creativity in there. The loss of Stamer, Haggan, Aiken and Wire wasn't even noticeable. Schonert changed up the playcalling and the offensive formations. The O got off to a slow start, but Turk showed he wasn't going to be predictable at all.

I fully expected the Bills to take a knee when they got the ball back with :34 seconds left. But unlike last year, the coaching staff showed confidence in the players and got 3 points out of it.

As far as Jauron: 1 penalty for 14 yards, 0 turnovers, solid play from all three units. I'm not a fan of Jauron at all and I've been very critical of him in the past, but it just doesn't get any better than that. This was the first time in ages that a Bills coach thoroughly outcoached his opponent.

Well, I think I made good points but this certainly isn't my best writing.

    Sorry, people.

Next week I'm going to try to establish a format and stick with it.

    Any comments?

I agree with everything you said.

I was sitting in the stands right before the half and was basically like, "here we go, take a knee Dick" so I was shocked that they went for more points. Combine that with the 30yd touchdown pass right after the turnover and I almost though someone else was coaching this team. Last year they would've played it safe, this year they went straight for the kill. I loved it. That is what winning teams do. It's only one game though so I need to keep things in perspective.

it's good stuff. i think it's harder to write when the team does well. i know it is for me, and i also have the trouble of not getting to watch this game. Everyone knows you are going to be cautious by nature before you annoint the bills the beasts of the east.

Perhaps one section in your article going forward can be Op's hyper critical zone. I actually don't say that mockingly either. you tend to notice really small details within a play (like last year you were one of the first people to be angry that when reed ran in motion, the play was a run play in his direction.) it ended up being a great example of why play calling was so weak. and it was a tangible thing that i looked for during games and cursed loudly. i think even in this fun win, you could find examples of things you hope the bills fix whether its a specific play or formation that you'd be more willing to jump into the pandemonium of a 19-0 run.

but the articles last year were great and i suspect this year it will be more of the same.

there really wasn't much to complain about- I only complain when there's a good reason (although a lot of people here disagree with me on what constitutes a "good reason").

I dont like reading long posts about coaches, but the part thats on this thread sounds great. You can make me so pissed when we dont play well, but you can also get me 10X more happy when we win. Great job Op.
