View Full Version : how many wins do the bills need to get some national coverage?

34-10 in a complete game. it's a little odd that the monday NYT had two sentences on the game, yahoo sports barely had headline in its football section, and espn only showed the punt return and the fake field goal to gloss over the whole thing. Pretty disgusting.

I think the bills have to be 4-0 with at least one more blow out win before some decides to have a small segment to give the team some props.

I think beating Jacksonville is a step in the right direction. But we have to keep it up. If we beat the Jags, we'll be at 2-0 with two wins over teams who made the playoffs last year. But we could ruin all of it if we come back home and lose to the Raiders, and then lose to the Rams. We need to show we can play with the big boys, and still beat the teams we should beat. 4-0 going into the bye, and then a win against the Chargers would have everyone talking.

they have a game vs the cardinals before the bye week. so they'd be 5-0 if they are undefeated into the bye.

If we beat Jacksonville decisively, Boomer will be trumpeting our praises from the rooftops.

They have to be 8-4 after 12 games to get any national attention. I think the Bills need to be in serious contention for a playoff spot late in the season, and not just being one of the bubble teams, but serious contention.

It doesn't matter. We're a small market team so unless we're like 8-0 we won't be getting a lot of media attention.

Detroit was 6-2 last season and nobody cared.

None the less. We HAVE to beat Jville. If they are touted as being in contention, we have to win this game to be a game up on them and have tie breaker. But if we can start 5-0, we should be on the first screen of power rankings.

And half wishfully homerism and half in the realm of possibility, they could go 14-2 with the chargers and Broncos being the toughest challenges. I think if the pats keep Cassell in there, they are toast.

My prediction though based on week one is 10-6

Same, anything more than that is gravy.

Well, a week ago I would have voted that we would need to be 15-0 before anybody noticed, but I'm already reading here and there that the national sportswriters have noticed...

If they go into the SD game at 4-1 (or 5-0 :)), and SD is decent, it could be the media's darling game of the week.

Would NBC be able to flex that early in the season to televise it?

To hell with national coverage, I'd rather sneak up on people.

NFL Total Access just showed Roscoe's return as the #1 play of the week. National?

I personally do not care about National coverage as long as were winning games. We have Jacksonville this week and its going to be a very tough game.
Let's take game by game. :gobills:

NFL network actually is more about football, unlike ESPN which is all about hype.

I know, that would be awesome to win more games than you can have in 1 season, right?

Do we really need Stuart Scott bobbing our knobs? That guy is a bag of dicks.

Forget national coverage....

Let the media stay focused on guys like Brett Favre, Matt Cassel, and Peyton Manning.

The more media attention we get, the more pressure our team is under. Let's stay under the radar as much as possible.

i dig that the ST units got coverage. i'm not even arguing that we're being forgotten. rightfully so, when you suck as bad as thebills have, people are skeptical. i'm just asking, when do you think you start seeing people say, "who are the buffalo bills?"

i would love for this year to be the year where we go from one of 32 teams, to a team that has to be taken seriously.

If they beat the Jags, they will start a buzz.
