For Jimmy Kennedy, it is not the draft of his dreams. It is not how he had envisioned it as a youngster, sitting as he did three different years in the Theater at Madison Square Garden, watching the early part of the first round unfold. When his time came to be drafted in his dream, he could hear his name being called, loud and clear, the thrill of his athletic career.

Instead, as the minutes of this year's draft at the Theater at Madison Square Garden slowly tick away, Kennedy waits in agony. A kid from nearby Yonkers who had become a star defensive tackle at Penn State, he sits in the Green Room just offstage with his family and his high school coach. This would be his triumphant moment, local kid makes good. But that's not what is happening.

He sits in the Green Room with Carson Palmer, Terrell Suggs, Terence Newman, Dewayne Robertson and Charles Rogers. In a nearby room is Byron Leftwich. They are among the elite of the draft, sure quick selections.
