He's the man. Accurate all day, cool in the pocket as usual, took what was given, then opened up when it was necessary, BIG HUGE MOFO CLUTCH drive at the end, 37 yards to Lee, touchdown to Hardy.
That was a veteran game for a guy in his 11th NFL start, on the road against a good defense. 2-0 against playoff teams this year.
Nitpick ... held the ball too long at times and paid for it on the TO.

best game I've seen him play.

that was a pro QB.

It's been a long time since we got a starting nfl quality performance from our starting QB.

I love what I saw from him. He was clutch at the end and was basically hitting on every single pass. He's very accurate and wow does he get that ball out fast. He really has me excited. I have a feeling I will be getting myself a Trent Edwards jersey soon.

I've been 100% confident with him since the Steelers pre-season game. He's taken a massive step forward, and it was just a bit of rust that held him back early on against the Seahawks.

Philagape

And how's this: He hasn't thrown a pick in six of his last seven games.

While just starting his second year.

The fact that he doesn't need to scramble around in the pocket is huge for him. He does a great job of stepping up in the pocket and also has a lazer quick release.

So far, the offensive line just looks so much better this year than last. TE got decent protection so that he could make those great throws.

This also goes to show you - the Pre-Season is absolutely meaningless - a squalid performance in the Pre-Season has no correlation to regular season performance.

What squalid performance in pre-season? He was a bit rough the first game, he tore the Steeler's apart the second week, and then he was out for the rest of the games.

Negative plays. Edwards keeps it to bare bones.

Todays sack and fumble was Jason Peters getting torched. No INT's.

Very accurate and that's the key. A little high on a couple but he hooked up with Hardy for the $$.

I was talking about the team, not Trent Edwards. I heard some of the usual pissing and moaning at the end of the pre-season. Pre-season is meaningless and has no bearing on the team's performance in the regular season.

There were two plays that really impressed me--the second even more than the first:

1.) The deep throw to Evans. Evans had been knocked off his route by the CB and had to put a move on the safety. Despite this, Edwards put the ball exactly where he had to put it for Evans to catch it in stride. Great patience and throw (props to the offensive line for giving him time on the play, too).

2.) The throw to Schouman on the bootleg play for the Bills' last first down on the FG drive after Parrish's return. The Jags defense was totally fooled on the run fake, which allowed Edwards to be totally alone as he rolled to his left on the bootleg. Excellent.

The Bills had two receivers on that left side: Schouman, who was open on a square out to the sideline, and Reed, who was running straight down the field, covered by a DB. Reed was behind the defender and breaking open just as Edwards was about to throw the ball.

If Edwards was able to connect with Reed, it would have been a TD and the game would have effectively been over. Tempting. But, the throw to Reed would have had to be absolutely perfect: Edwards would have had to loft the ball over the head of the DB and put the pass where Reed, who was running in a straight line away from him, could have made an over-the-shoulder catch. Difficult. Miss and the ball could be deflected, dropped or, worse, intercepted like the pass that he threw in the Dallas game. Any of those options would have stopped the clock for Jacksonville.

The throw to Schouman was much easier as he was running perpendicular to Edwards towards the sideline with the defender trailing him by a significant margin. All Edwards had to do was lead him with a nice spiral to get a first down and give the Bills a chance to run more time off the clock.

Edwards made the safe, smart throw to Schouman for the first down. If the Bills had been able to run for one more first down, they would have run the clock out and won the game 17-16. No need to risk a block on the FG or a big return on the kickoff or leave the Jags any time on the clock to score. The Bills didn't get that first down, but Edwards put them in a position to win by making the smart decision to go to Schouman and hitting him with a perfect throw. Impressive.

I screamed when the Bills drafted Edwards in the third round, but now I know why Bill Walsh told Marv Levy that Edwards was a guy who could play.... Just goes to show how little I know!!!

Im confident that hes our QB.

However, Im not yet sold. Not because of anything he has or hasnt done. But because we have been let down so many times before. Im just gun shy.

Big players make big plays to win close games.

He nailed that pass to Evans that put us up for good.

Its refreshing to feel like we have playmakers at skill positions that you can count on to win games.

We have a bright bright future.

I am sold on Edwards.

-makes good decisions
-protects the ball (usually)
-accurate
-smart
-can make all the throws
-get's the third down conversions keeps the drives going.
-was clutch at the end of the game when his team needed it the most.
-11 starts; 7-4 record is impressive.
-has taken a big step forward this year

He's not flashy like Aaron Rodgers or Cutler today, but he got the job done. I think part of it has to do with the fact that we actually play defense and don't let games get out of control and the Bills have never been the type to pile on the points.

One thing that worries me, and it's not Trents fault, is our run game is not very impressive, yet again, this season. This will be BIG if we can't get our run game going when the weather starts going to crap and we can't rely on Trent to make perfect passes in the harsh weather.

One thing about him that is a little irritating, and I've been a supporter since his first start against the Jets.

There have been very few times that he has been swarmed in the backfield.
There have been a few times where one guy comes free in his field of view, (not like the Peters whiff today), but when there is only one guy who he should clearly see.

Anyway, he doesn't seem interested in either pump faking or spinning out of the pocket to get to an area where he will have ample time.
Full speed pass rushers can be "slipped" and he seems more like unloading or ends up getting hit.

He is certainly a good enough athlete to escape, but he doesn't move out unless it's a called play fake rollout.

Come on Trent-use you legs and bailout your O'line occasionally.
