Big win but Lynch didn't do much. Outside of 2 runs the last 2 weeks Lynch hasn't been worth that 1st round pick we used on him. You were the #12 pick in the draft. You need to show me improvement in year 2. I do like your effort however.

 Wow. A TD in the first two games of the season and he isn't doing enough? At times he was our only guy making plays on the team last year. Take it easy there!

Haven't seen that since Thurman....sorry.

i disagree completely. Our first drive alone was amazing.

From nfl.com:

Game ball
The RB tandem of Marshawn Lynch (http://www.nfl.com/players/marshawnlynch/profile?id=LYN442976) and Fred Jackson (http://www.nfl.com/players/fredjackson/profile?id=JAC173789). Lynch did all the dirty work, carrying the ball 19 times for 59 yards, including an 11-yard touchdown run on the game's opening drive. Jackson, who caught just 22 balls last season, was consistently targeted out of the backfield by Edwards. He caught a team-high seven passes for 83 yards. link (http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter?game_id=29547&season=2008&displayPage=tab_gamecenter)

Everybody knows this team just isn't that great at run blocking. I didn't notice ANYTHING he could have done better in either game. When holes aren't there you can't do much as a RB. With any other back we would have half the running yardage. He just doesn't give up on blown running plays.

I'm not saying he didnt have a good 1st drive but that was it. For him this year its basically been 2 runs.

team are geared up to stop the run because Trent is unproven although that's going to change with the way he is playing. Also, our center is terrible.

Once the passing game gets to the next level, intermediate and long ball, consistantly, the running game will get better.

dude, ya right. he is exactly what we need in an RB, a yard churning 4-yard per run beast. He is still facing some stacked fronts, so he is doing just what we need from him.

Thats the problem Edwards has played well and there respecting the pass more and Lynch still can't find the holes.

They are still stacking the box because they can when TE throws 10yards max on passing plays. I want to see this team stretch the field more so that it can move some of those guys out of the box to open up the run.

The passing game has not fully developed yet. TE is playing good but teams know that all but 1 or 2 passes in the game are going to be short passes. Hence, more in the box. When he starts going 20 yards or more down the field 5-6 times and stretching that D, it's going to keep the rushing yards low. But even still, today was a 1:1 ratio between passing plays and rushing plays. They are sticking with it and while not great yardage, its keeping the D honest.

If it's all about fantasy stats, you have a point. But this guy runs hard behind a OL who is better at pass blocking.

I look at what the RB position contributes and Fred Jackson catches 7 for 83 yards, many for 1st downs.

This position isn't a worry.

This is exactly why stats are deceiving, in my view.

I thought Marshawn played great.

Normally I am pretty open to criticism, but Marshawn is a beast and played great. I'm glad we have him.

J'ville's defense is great, and they were playing at home.

IMO, bad thread.

I like Lynch. He's tough and he runs hard. I think he's a tad overrated though. Doesn't have gamebreaking speed and he has mediocre fieldvision for a premier NFL running back. He left a bunch of yards out there the last two weeks - missing some obvious cutback lanes. I'm hoping he improves that aspect of his game though; maybe the coaches can point that out in the film?

you can't be serious. We don't depend on 1 rb thanks to Jackson and that's a good thing. Don't take anything away from Lynch because we have a 1-2 punch.

I don't think anyone has mentioned the fact that we just played a Jacksonville defense coached by Jack Del Rio AND Greg Williams, at Jacksonville. The Jags are just plain hard to run against.

Instead of focusing on the fact that Marshawn didn't win your fantasy game for you today, how bout feeling good about the fact that we finally seem to have an offensive coordinator that can adjust his game plan on the fly when something isn't working. Or that our 2nd year, 3rd round QB put together two successive 4th quarter drives deep into the Jags territory, one of which ended with the game winning touchdown. Or that James Hardy showed up and did exactly what he was drafted to do. Or that our #2 back had 100 combined yards of offense.

I agree that it would be nice to see Marshawn putting up numbers like AP, and that generally our run game is not as dominant as we'd like. But I don't think either has much to do with Marshawn's ability or effort.

Dumb thread.

When did I question the offensive coordinator, Trent Edwards or James Hardy? I questioned a top half of the draft pick not living up to my expectations. And I won my fantasy game because I had McFadden and Boldin among others.

Didn't say you questioned Turk, Trent or Hardy. What I meant was that sometimes a player just doesn't get the stats, through no fault of his own. Look at the big picture. Instead of being annoyed that Marshawn only put up 60 yards today, be happy that we now seem to be balanced enough to adjust and win even when he has a tough day.

Not to mention that our O didn't get on the field in the second half until 6 minutes left in the third. We got down and needed to throw a bit more.
