The Buffalo Sabres announced today the release of “The Making of a Classic” DVD, a video documentary reliving the historic AMP Energy/NHL Winter Classic played at Ralph Wilson Stadium on January 1, 2008.
The DVD is a look back at the thrilling outdoor game between the Buffalo Sabres and Pittsburgh Penguins played in front of an NHL record setting 71,217 passionate hockey fans. The DVD also documents the work that went into making this game a truly memorable event, including behind the scenes footage, the process of installing an outdoor rink, the teams’ pre-game practices, exclusive locker room access, opening ceremonies, in-game action on and off the ice and much more.
“The Making of a Classic” is just $10, with a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the DVD going to the Buffalo Sabres Foundation. The DVD will go on sale Saturday, September 20 during the Sabres Puckdrop 2008 event at HSBC Arena at the Sabres Store. DVD’s will also be available for sale online at www.sabres.com, or at the HSBC Arena Box Office.
