The Buffalo Bills are 2-0 for the first time in five years. They’re looking to go 3-0 for the first time since the Super Bowl years Sunday when they host Oakland in Ralph Wilson Stadium. They’re coming off one of their signature road wins of the decade, surviving the heat of Jacksonville to post a 20-16 win Sunday.
So as you can imagine, there were lots of smiles in their locker room Monday. It’s been a while since there’s been this kind of feeling in Orchard Park.
“A lot of people are excited about us being 2-0 and we’re excited, too,” said safety Donte Whitner. “But we still have bigger and better things to do. We expected to go 2-0. Now we have Oakland this week. Our expectations are to go 3-0 and that’s what we’re working on.
“This next game is a huge opportunity for us to keep the momentum and excitement that’s building.”
The Bills are one of just 10 NFL teams at 2-0, one of five in the AFC. Perhaps there’s already one tangible benefit developing because of that.
