View Full Version : Raiders dominate Bills in 34-13 win

Well, according to the Madden simulation anyways. Maybe I can find some yard work or something to do this Sunday.

How are the Raiders ever going to fire their head coach if they keep blowing teams out? The Oakland defense steps up for the second straight week, holding the previously unbeaten Bills to just one touchdown as the Raiders win 34-13.

Ha, even the CPU simulations can't run the ball in Madden 09!

Definitely a flaw in this game. Gets annoying quick.

I'm really glad you posted this. I'm like 4 games into my franchise and I haven't run for over 30 yards combined. I actually gave up in the 4th game and just passed like every down. I thought I just forgot how to run the ball.

Gotta pound the rock!! I run a lot of stretch plays and powers, and depending on where the D-line is (lined up outside edge of Tackle or inside) i either block focus to pinch (if they are lined up inside) or aggressive (outside). its real tough though, a 1000 yard season was major accomplishment for me.

I could not get yardage on the ground for the life of me the first 10-15 games i played. Then i started trying the more realistic strategy, and the rushing yards started piling up. 1st, always look inside first; very hard to break outside. 2nd, make sure you know which hole the run is supposed to go to pre snap. 90% of the time, that's the hole you want to hit. 3rd, you have to flip the play at the line quite often. Just watch where the LB's creeping. 4th. Always adjust the line pre-snap. For inside handoffs i make them go agressive. For outside handoffs i make them slide with the play.

I think I have tried some of that but not consistently. I will have to make sure I focus on it.

Instead of leaving Saturday to be back in time for the Bills game Sunday I'll just stay in College Station and scout the high school team after I'm done with aTm and Miami.

This is what I eventually did. You have to forget what you did in previous versions of Madden.. This is a totally different animal. I just finished my first season and Lynch had 1300+ and 19 TDs. The only downside, and it is hilarious, is that during certain games, I would have like 25 carries for 30 yards and others I would have 15 carries for 250 yds. Definitely no consistency there but it evens out in the end. LOL

But my biggest petpeave for every version of Madden since they have refused to correct it, is when some 300lb DT will catch Roscoe Parish or Lynch from behind. WTF is that about? You mean Lynch can't turn the corner and beat some fat bastard? Nothing irritates me more about Madden than that. And of course being impossible to block a FG or a punt, or audible the kickoff when the other team chooses to onside. They can audible but we can't? WTF is that about?

ugh, got the Wii version because I liked the original Madden on Wii, it was absolutely terrible. I sold it on eBay and picked up the 360 version instead. Graphics are really, really terrible, gameplay isn't as innovative as it originally was on Wii - it's really a dumbed down version of the game ("All Play"). Total waste of time.
