It's still early in the season, but whatever happened to getting the tight ends more involved in the passing game?

It seemed that after week 1 the tight ends dissapeared in the passing game.

Royal's contribution in week 1 was reminscent of Metzellars, McKellar and Remiersma, but the tight end position needs to establish itself more if this offense is going to score more points.

our OL was getting owned in the 1st 3 quarters. Our TE's had to help block.

They certainly didn't do anything spectacular yesterday, but didn't Royal have 4 catches for 34 yards? Very similar to week 1 excpet no TD.

Royal contributed yesterday.

Id like to see more, sure.
But I can live with this type of TE production, especially if we're utilizing the RB's in the short passing game more.

Royal had 6 receptions for 52 yards. His longer a 30 yard gain.

Yesterday the position accumalated just short gain. I believe 15 yards being his longest.

I'd be nice to see more big plays from that position. That's all.

Teams are stuffing the box with 7-8 defenders hoping to stop our running game and forcing Edwards to beat them through the air. This will happen as long as teams don't fear our "long ball".

The reason we were able to run so well with JP (just using it as an example) is because teams feared his downfield throws.

Until Edwards stretches the field regularly, our Running Game... and in turn... our Tight Ends will suffer.

He has like 10 catches through 3 games and a TD. .He's on pace for over 50 catches, I can certainly live with that, though it would be nice to have a game changing type of TE.
