I think so, plus I just noticed a white strap covering part of the buffalo on the other helmet, so that's why it probably seemed that way to me.

I think the standing Buffalo is THE best ever. Seeing those throwbacks some how get me more excited for game day. Too bad the NFL won't let us wear them every damn game!

Thanks pal! I agree with you that the white 'streaking buffalo' helmet is best! It would look great with any of the uniforms the team wears. It would be nice to see it resurrected at some point.

Is it the NFLs choice or the organizations choice? I'm interested in why they wouldn't allow that to happen. Contract issues perhaps, like the 'Ocho Cinco' debacle?

I'm under the impression that the NFL only allows teams to wear their throwbacks during two games a year :idunno:

They switched to their throwback full-time a few years ago and it looks way better than their crappy green uniforms. The organization should have the control to choose a primary uniform, if that's the old school uni, then so be it. Right?

they have to do it early in the summer... not sure the exact time frame but in the neighborhood of 3 month before camp, because of liscensing rights to rebok

I would be all for the Bills going back to those throwback uniforms. The helmet has grown on me too. I used to think it looked boring in comparison to the one we have been used to for decades, but with the old uniforms it all works well together. I think I like the throwbacks even better than the SB years uniform.

Would be cool if they made the team wear the throwbacks full time and switched off between the white 'standing buffalo' helmet and the white 'streaking buffalo' helmet. Now that would be ultra sweet!

The Bills can make a uniform change if they want, but it has to be done early, as someone else said. Too late now. The Bills can also petition the league to be allowed to wear the throwbacks for two additional games if they want to. I do not know if there is a time restraint on when that petition has to be made. I am also curious about playoffs, and if that would require a separate petition, or maybe it would just not be allowed, period.

Also--Marshawn's helmet shell likely is larger than Fred's, because he has both a bigger head, and more hair. There are several different sizes of shells, it's not just the interior that changes, because there needs to be a certain cushion distance built in.

I dislike the uniform/helmet combination as it is. The super red helmet looks kind of tacky with those away uniforms that have the random block of blue on the shoulder-pads. I mean what's the deal with that? The road unis are awful. And the home ones are just too dark.

Me too. I never liked it. I don't like how busy the new uni's are, and the design is not so great either. IMHO. Too many colors ala the Titans. Ugh, I wish they would go back to the throwbacks or come up with something different.
