Meat-Head to play in Bills backfield??????

THE MAN THEY CALL "MEAT": Bills FB Darian Barnes have been given a nickname by Trent Edwards. The Bills QB calls Barnes "Meat." We haven't asked him why and Barnes has only guessed as to why.

"He calls me meat," said Barnes. "I don't know why. He thinks I guess because I am large. I like steak so I am going to say that's why, but he thinks I'm just big."

But the troubling thing for Barnes is apparently some Bills fans have gotten wind of the nickname and it's caught on.

"The fans started calling me meat?" ask Barnes incredulously. "Do you know how upsetting that is? I can't get used to that. It's not so bad I guess because at the Jets they called me 'Dump Truck' so I guess this is an upgrade."

I'm not so sure it's an upgrade personally, but if he likes it better that's fine. I'm just wondering what's up with the one word nicknames. Marshawn Lynch calls Fred Jackson - "Head" because he thinks he has a large dome.

And no, don't go there, I'm way ahead of you fans putting Barnes and Jackson together in the backfield in which case you'd have Meat-Head. Very clever.
