All for it so long as he keeps them here.

He will be one of the big guns that will keep the Bills in Western NY. I have a feeling that Jacobs, Golisano, Rich, and Kelly's other investors will form a group to buy this team. Things are looking up for the Buffalo Bills and Western New York.

Ugh.

He dicked around with the B's for a while and turned them into a small market team. As of the last two years or so he's seemed to right the ship.
But there were many an empty nights at the garden.

Well the Bills, thus far, are making a big statement. You're not going to move a winning team with so much fan support.

Let's hope this winning culture is something that can outlast the stupid Toronto deal.

If true, that's the best news I've heard in a while. He's a Buffalo guy with deep pockets (leader of the family-owned and very succsssful Delaware North Companies, which includes Sports Service and several other hospitality/management entities). Also owns the TD North Center and the Bruins. If he were to sell both, he would have a good portion of the $ to buy the Bills - although he probably has plenty, anyway.

As I remember, his net worth is over $1 Billion.

Unfortunately he is denying it, and someone on another board pointed out that Ralph is not willing to sell the Bills anyway :(

Im in the middle on this one. Maybe he has love for the Bills and will do it right unlike the Bruins. He ruined the Bruins by hiring incompentent idiots to run the team. Its getting better now so hopefully he starts good with the Bills unlike how he started in Boston

Who cares if he saves the Bills.

if he buys us and runs us into the ground within 10 years so badly that we are FORCED to move, then its an issue.

If he truly saves the Bills and keeps us here, then i am all for it

Once again, we see how much the bar is lowered in poor old Buffalo. We're just happy to have a team, who cares if they win?

True, but once he dies, then what? His daughters seem to have no interest in the team so I am curious(more like "afraid") of what they will do with the team :(

Right. That is the reality of the situation. If you don't like it then there is nothing I can do for you.

and this is why the thread came up. It turned out to be refuted by the guy, it was just conjecture on "what if this guy bought us..."

two words: ball oh knee

a new owner who wanted to move the bills would have them in toronto way before ralphie turned into wormchow

This doesn't fill me with hope.

Everything I've read about Bruins ownership has been terrible.

Jacobs is a BUFFALO guy so that is a good thing...

I could see him as a PART owner eventually...

i didnt see him on the forbes top 400... so its probably slightly lower, or atleast below 1.2 billion which was the ""poorest"" of the top 400

and let's remember, Jacobs is no spring chicken himself. I would have to look it up but he is in his 70s also.

and the rumor for his denies has always been he doesn't want to do anything to put himself on RWs bad side. He has shown continued support for RW and doesn't want to make it look like he is a piranna.

trading away all their best players didn't help either.

Jacobs is a cheapskate

you all claim Ralph won't spend money, Jacobs never does; he'll drive you all batty. if you want to know what he'll do to the bills ask a bruins fan in Boston what they think of him.

Jacobs never spends money? Then why are the Bruins among the NHL's highest-spending teams right now, with a $55.47 million payroll? They're just over $1 million under the salary cap limit.

The interesting part is that his company, Sports Service has been involved with the Buffalo Bills for many many years as the official concession supplier of the team. Now they are also in charge of both of the Bills stores too.

I know he is a Red Sox fan.

Paul Snyder did. I'm fairly certain the Jacobs family had nothing to do with the Braves, but I could be wrong.

there is deffinatley a power play in place that is behind the scenes to keep the bills in buffalo. between kelly(and whoever he has thats is his partners) and gallisano as well as an unknown whether it be the bruins owner or a toronto billionaire interested in what we have going right now in toronto(with us playing a preseason game and a regular season game perminantly) i think we are safe in buffalo. green bay and buffalo are sport treasures. the days of small cities getting teams is over, and ticket sales are no problem in either of the 2 smallest cities with NFL franchises.

I think he's in his late 60s (I saw a site that listed the wealthiest people of 2006 and had him at 66, but I don't know if he was 66 in 2006 or 66 now). That means if he buys the team, the death watch starts the next day. He better have some kids who are interested in keeping the team & keeping the team in Buffalo if he ever buys our team.

This time around I want an owner 100% dedicated to putting a winning product on the field year in and year out. If he's that kind of owner then bring him in ASAP.
