Owners distracted as they cast covetous eyes on Bills

Winning proprietors can come in different forms. Barking madmen occasionally pay the bills for championship teams, and faceless, bottom line-driven corporations have underwritten the odd powerhouse.

But, in general, you want someone sane, you want someone who cares like you do, you want someone who has the resources to compete, you want someone who understands why they're investing.

And you want someone with undivided loyalties. Distraction or ambivalence can be as much of a killer as outright Ballard-esque wackiness.

Which brings us to the nice people at Rogers Communications, who right now seem a bit disinterested when it comes to the future of their baseball team, the Toronto Blue Jays - like long-married folks whose hearts have been suddenly set aflutter at the sight of someone younger and more attractive and perhaps available. That hussy is of course the Buffalo Bills of the NFL, who they are desperate to bring to Toronto.

Doesn't sound as though this guy is real keen on Buffalo moving.

Watch Ted Rogers croak before Ralph.

Me too. It's not that I don't trust the other people to buy the Bills and keep them in Buffalo. It's more that I don't trust Ted Rogers and can't stand that *******. I know he will be waiting at the freaking funeral with an offer to buy and move the team.

I just found it amusing that the writer called Buffalo a "hussy".
