FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- Georgia wide receiver Terrence Edwards has signed a free agent contract with the Atlanta Falcons on Tuesday after earlier agreeing to terms with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Falcons convinced Edwards, a native of Sandersville, to stay in his home state by offering a slightly better contract.
The 6-foot, 176-pound Edwards, who caught 205 passes in his four-year career with Georgia, agreed to a free agent deal with the Steelers on Sunday night, but never signed a contract. He changed his mind and signed with the Falcons on Monday, Falcons spokesman Aaron Salkin said Tuesday.
