Since Pat has a thread with a number as a subject, I will too.

The Bills are now allowing teams to convert 19.2 of their 3rd down attempts and are tied with Baltimore (who plays tonight and has only played two games) for the NFL lead.

This can't be overlooked as one of the biggest reason for the 4-0 start. Not only does it get the other team off the field, but it also gives the punt returners and opportunity and all three have done well.

Especially when I think it was our single biggest problem defensively last year. Giving up 3rd and long was almost a given it seemed last season. Huge improvement in that department and it goes a long way towards the 4-0 record.

The defense has really stepped up on third down, there's no doubt about it. Now, if they could make a 4th down stop when teams are going for it on 4th and 1 or 4th and 2, then I'd be even happier.
