QB Arizona--Ranking 4th on the Wildcats all-time yards list, Johnson amassed 5,749 yards playing only two seasons as a starter. Due to the lack of a consistent backfield, he was prone to turning the ball over.

Starting in all 12 games last season, Johnson completed 239 of his 410 passes (58.3%) for 3,327 yards (single-season school record) with 16 TDs and 13 Ints. Had 3 very notable games; throwing for 416 yards against Utah, 443 yards against Washington and 492 yards against California (breaking the school single-game record).

I know we have two very capable backups, but this should make for a fun battle for the number three spot. Brown is decent, and who knows if Johnson can even produce in the NFL, but I'm interested in seeing what this guy can do.

Direct quotes from my notes...

"fairly good arm strength, ok accuracy, great game and pocket awareness... has all the intangibles between the ears and in the chest needed to be a winner/leader… very fast release... good form, keeps ball nice and high on his chin, if the game was just about the arm and head attached he'd be a decent mid draft prospect... Needs to work on his footwork, bad pocket movement, throws either flat footed or off his back foot on nearly all of his passes... doesn't bail from the pocket when he should... doesn't scramble... basically a statue, and he always seems to end up in the same place every passing play (his back)"

If I remember correctly, he was the MVP for the west team in the E-W Shrine game...

I love the level of competition that TD brings into the training camps. No one has a secured position, they have to earn their keep. If T Brown is going to do something he had better act fast.

 dozer. :chuk:

I agree RedEye. The competition is always great to watch.
