    Chris Ellis

Our 3rd round pick Chris Ellis, whatever happened to him?

He's not on IR, yet he has not played a single down this season.

    WTF?

He's on the roster, but has not been activated for any of the first 4 games. He is obviously behind Copeland Bryan on the depth chart.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

Depth is nice, isn't it ?

He'll hit the weights, practice hard and eventually earn some playing time.

Youboty was a 3rd round pick. It's now year 3 and you'll see him play a ton today.

I agree. Depth is a beautiful thing, and also the reason we haven't had to rush McKelvin and Hardy into action, as we had to do with high picks in the past.

Angelo Crowell also did not play his rookie year. Since it is Ellis' rookie year I am not concerned. If he is not playing next year, we can be concerned.

We drafted a lot of project players this year.

At hope he can replace old man Schobel at some point. Schobels getting slower every year.

I've heard Schobel even admit as much. I guess he's the Marcellus Wiley of Schobel's Bruce Smith. Hopefully he'll prove to be a great pass rusher.

I have absolutely no information on this other than just my own personal feeling, but I think he's going to be activated in place of Bryan soon, possibly as early as today.

Except Schobel has never had a dominant DE on the other side.

                            Re: Chris Ellis

I like Ellis. I think he has the talent of a first round draft pick, just never put it all together at Virginia Tech. He played well during the preseason, but with Schobel, Denney, Kelsay, Bryan, and the long snapper, Neill officially being a DE, the Bills can't dress 6 DEs a game.

We'll see him soon enough. It is nice having depth and being relatively healthy, though. Around this time last year we had Neill and Jason Jefferson starting on the defensive line.
Remember Kevin Everett in your thoughts.

I'm not concerned for Day 2 draft picks being inactive for the first 4 games of the year.
