Vikings’ draft shows braintrust is daft

Even though the NFL draft’s 77th round continues on ESPN6 as you read this, enough time has passed to reflect on the pure comedy of Saturday afternoon. THE BIGGEST PUNCH LINE, of course, is the Vikings’ failure to submit its pick in the 15 minutes allotted. Then again, this was intellectually challenged Mike Tice running the show. Tice, whose explanations in each of the 10 times his talented team was beaten last season qualify him for the now-open position of Iraqi Information Minister, again placed the blame elsewhere for Saturday’s debacle. This time he pointed the finger at the Ravens for not playing nice and informing the league in time about a trade Baltimore claimed was never consummated.
