View Full Version : why this loss is a GOOD thing

We are a very young team who after last week was walking around like their **** didnt stink. In many scenarios this is a bad thing... after getting killed today our guys know that they are not the best team in the NFL right now and need to work hard to get there. This smashing should get our team pumped for the rest of the season

NO THEY WEREN'T. Everything i've read is that they've remained with the exactly right attitude. Cautiously optomistic, far from cocky.

This is ridiculous.

Nobody who has ever followed this league for more than two years ever had the notion that this team was great.

The team knows that, so the original premise is false.

We got exposed for what we are.

This is a very young team that can't seem to stop other teams, and cannot run.

Good enough to get to the playoffs, but not really good.

I was thinking the same thing...I posted this in another thread a few minutes ago.

This loss could be just what this team needs at this point. If they have the heart and chemistry we have seen over the first four weeks, this loss should stew a bit for the next couple weeks. It may just fuel them to step it up even more, and go on a nice run through SD and the AFCE after the bye.

Losses are never good. not in the sense that we have a loss on the record but for this team i believe that this loss could have a silver lining

What an idiotic post.

Check out how tired the Rams punter is.
Then post how bad JP is.

They were going to lose at some point and almost certainly will again. I'd rather a loss come against a non-division, non-conference team, on the road, 3000 miles away, than against an AFCE rival or AFC contender anywhere.

I totally agree Veggieman except for the part where you said our team walked around like their sh@t didn't stink. We did need this loss as a wake up call and it will ensure that we go into the bye week focused.

No, a good loss was the loss the Giants had against the Pats in the regular season last year. They found out how they matched up and learned from it to beat them in the SB.

This loss was a, wait we faced a decent team and they blew us out type of loss.

This is an out of conference loss to a team that probably won't make the playoffs.

Time to start focusing on :squish: the fish and winning the division games.

Arizona is quite possibly going to win the NFC West.

And why focus on Miami with San Diego next?

i get what the original poster is saying. yes, this could focus us, but we lost our starting QB. I thought our third down defense sucked it raw, but i can't help but point one of the fingers at losman. He just doesn't have it. and chances are he's going to have to play against the chargers. that should be the last game that he gets to prove his worth in the NFL. if he ****s the bed again, then he really serves this team no purpose and should just flat out be cut.

How many different threads are you gonna put this in? Did JP give up 41 points?
No, but the lack of offense led to the tired defense giving up 41 points.

I don't think our bad offense today had much to do with our defense. Even when we were moving the ball of offense it didn't matter. Everytime the Cards touched the ball, they moved it at will from their very first series, and that was before we were tired.

Our defense got their ass smoked today, there is no other way to put it. I am not blaming anyone on the offense (except JP) for what happened. Jp was like the 12th defender out there being apart of 3 turnovers. But seriously, when you can't got off the field on 3rd and long, you are in for a long day on defense.
