Patrick Kaleta was nervous. The Buffalo Sabres winger is still a young guy, and forwards were competing for jobs throughout training camp. He didn’t know where he was going to end up.
....

“I want to be here,” Kaleta said. “I’m from here, I love playing in Buffalo, and that was my goal coming into the season, the first part of my goal-setting. I’ve got one, and I’ve got to keep going now.”

For what it's worth, I saw Kaleta whiff on big hits a couple of times. At the times he did it, it didn't make a big difference in the play. I just hope he doesn't become one of these guys who goes for the big hit and takes himself out of the play.

All things considered, he had a good game- this is just something to watch for as the season progresses.

He has done that before and it infuriates me.

He also had play where he was getting control of the puck and hit the defender. That was nice, but he lost the puck.

Of course it was a nice hit and the fans cheered while Meathead and I were confused as to why a turnover was good.

Hitting is fine, but hitting all the time is dumb. At that point it was dumb since it was time to skate with the puck.
