AOL Radio: Bills or Giants landing Gonzalez

Just heard on AOL radio that the Eagles are out of Tony G. trade talks, and the Bills and Giants are the two frontrunners at this point. Of course the good news, is unlike other trade rumors in the past, we wont be tortured long as the trade deadline is tommorow.

Although the Bills havent confirmed it, a report by Nick E from scout.com (covers the Chiefs) said the Bills have offered a 3rd rounder for him, not a 3rd and 5th as some others have reported.

The report via AOL did say the Eagles are happy enough with LJ Smith (who did catch a TD yesterday) that they're not in the running.

While a player like Gonzalez doesn't fit the typical "Bills business model", the fact he's already under contract and would have to assume only his base salary makes it a move that should certainly be worth doing.

This last line is my own personal opinion: YOu gotta make the f'n trade.. Your getting a legendary TE, which is among our chief (pun intended) weaknesses.. Gonzo along with Hardy and Lynch makes for one hell of a red zone tandem.

Gotta make this move man.. DO IT RALPHIE!

The interviewee on the radio show was a reporter for the Chiefs.. I THINK it was NIck Entham (or something like that)

Why do i get the over-welming feeling this is to good to be true. If we landed Gonzo for a 3rd, i'd cry.

        Oh, and one last thing.

DOesnt seem anyone is interested in LJ, but Gonzo is VERY likely to be dealt. I'd be shocked at this point if he is.

And as far as LJ, I dont see anyone taking on his salary.. Pittsburgh I guess would be the prime candidate.

Weren't the Giants offering a 6th earlier? I can't see them making that big of a jump. If they do increase their offer, put a 2nd on the table and end it.

Does KC still run a version of the WCO? I'm thinking that could be a factor.

The Bills could definitely use Gonzalez much more than the Giants could. That Giant's offense would be pretty damn sick if they got him though.

                      Make this trade happen!!

The last I heard Schonert was on his knees under Brandon's desk encouraging him to make it a done deal.

Also, let's remember that the Giants are still the best team in the league as of right now. That gives us leverage in that the Giants FO might be thinking "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Besides, a team with Robert Royal as their starting TE requires an upgrade much more than one who has Kevin Bossy.

i really have a feeling this is going down. i dont know if he'll play this week if we land him though. but he might i mean the guy is a sure fire hall of famer so i am sure we could just tell him the routes to run and he could do something on the field. the giants are in no way going to get him. why would they trade shockey to get a TE 4 years older and give up the pick they got to get him?? no way if the bills and giants both offer a 3rd that we dont get him because brandon will through in a 5th or whatever to swing it our way. i just dont see the giants doing it. they would be ******s of the year for that and how do you explain it to your fans who loved shockey.
